Dr. Raghavan’s passion for medicine and treating patients as a whole started when she was very young. She wanted to always be a doctor and go into cardio-thoracic surgery training, to be specific. As she interned more at dental offices, she grew to love the combination of medicine, esthetics, surgery, and the wide range of challenges that a dentist potentially navigates for their patients, every day.

She decided to pursue her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in India at the age of 17. Her love for cardiology never left her. During her BDS, her training encompassed one full year of general medicine and surgical rotation, just like her MD counterparts. This training and way of thinking has traveled with her throughout her DMD and BDS programs, where she was a class valedictorian, then pursued a 9 month implant residency, as well as her advanced education in Dental Sleep Medicine through her mastery programs and then when taking the exam to acquire her Diplomate status to become a member of American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.

She is highly dedicated to continuing her education and invests about 250 hours a year on training. Other credentials include her active presence in organized dentistry. She is the president of the Will County Dental Society and Board Member of The Northern Illinois AGD. Her passion to learn stems from how she wishes to serve her patients.

During her leisure, Dr. Raghavan loves to involve herself in outdoor activities, she is a history buff, a major bookworm, and she loves to enjoy and create healthy meals along with spending time with her family.

In order to qualify for appearing for the board administered exam, a dentist must have multiple hours of additional education and training or complete the rigorous mastery programs and case load completion, offered by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. The exam is conducted and reviewed independently by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Doctors who have achieved the diplomate status also have to keep up with mandatory continuing education requirements to keep their diplomate status active.
